Michelle graduated from Texas A&M University with her Bachelor of Science in Biology and consequently earned her Master’s at Colorado State University. During her Master’s, she worked on research with a veterinary radiologist using different imaging modalities, including ultrasound, to diagnose pneumonia in rabbits. This experience sparked her passion for ultrasound, leading her to pursue formal training at the University of Colorado Hospital. She has been an ultrasound clinical instructor for three programs and is an active member of the ARDMS, SDMS, and AIUM. She has served on ARDMS board writing panels and is a published author of several educational courses through the SDMS.

Michelle began working with Antech Sound Imaging as a Clinical Education Specialist, training veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and veterinary radiologists in ultrasound. She has taught in private and corporate veterinary hospitals, as well as at symposiums, conferences, and private education events, and has been a recognized speaker at veterinary conferences including VMX and WVC. During her time at Antech Sound Imaging, she identified a critical need for highly trained professionals performing veterinary ultrasound in the field. She went on to co-found Focused Ultrasound Resources (FUR) to address this gap.

Today, in addition to her daily work with cats and dogs, Michelle also works with exotic species as well as zoos and aquariums across the world, expanding access to advanced imaging beyond traditional companion animal practice. She envisions a future where veterinary ultrasound is accessible, affordable, and held to high standards, ensuring all owners and their animals benefit from accurate, accountable imaging.
